595 Craft and Kitchen

Draft room · Spring Valley, Rainbow & Tropicana

A neighborhood craft beer pub in a strip mall at Rainbow and Tropicana, open since June 2017 and named for State Route 595, the state route number on part of Rainbow Boulevard. Co-owner Van-Alan Nguyen pairs a rotating craft tap list with an Asian-fusion scratch kitchen inspired by his Vietnamese heritage, and the same team runs Arts District Kitchen inside Able Baker Brewing.

On tap
24 rotating drafts, mostly West Coast craft from the likes of Beachwood, Cellarmaker, Great Notion, Russian River and Wayfinder, plus Vegas beers from Big Dog’s, Beer Zombies and CraftHaus and a German import or two such as Schlenkerla; about 70 cans and bottles to go or to drink in ($2 corkage); craft cocktails and wine
The room
Strip-mall gastropub with about a dozen bar seats and a dozen or so tables; repurposed-wood walls, neon beer signs, colorful chalkboard tap lists and TVs for sports; a glycol-chilled strip in the metal bar top keeps glasses cold; non-smoking, no gaming; under-21s welcome in the dining area, bar seats 21+
Food
Full scratch kitchen with Asian-fusion pub food: bánh mì, pork belly tacos, beer-brined wings, char siu sticky ribs, tom kha pasta, rice bowls and a craft burger; weekend brunch, lunch specials and a kids’ menu
